Walking

Wessex contains plenty of diverse walking in the lush countryside of Dorset and the intriguing Somerset levels. The Blackdown Hills, on the border of these two counties with Devon, as well as East Devon make for some interesting walks and afford many wonderful views over the counties and the coastline. Below are some of the trails we cover.

Another alternative is the Parrett Way walk, which runs from the North Coast of Somerset to Lyme Regis following the River Parrett from sea to source, also consider the Leland Trail from King Alfred's Tower to Ham Hill near our base and the Liberty Trail, from Ham Hill to Lyme Regis.  There is also the Macmillan Way and the Wessex Path as well as the South Coast Path

Whatever your choice, there is something to suit everyone in this idyllic corner of rural England. We will book your accommodation in advance, usually bed and breakfast  and plan your routes for you.

Tell us what you would prefer and we will cater for it. We provide Ordnance Survey maps of the area and include leaflets containing information on the points of interest that you will come  across during your travels.

Your heavy baggage will be transported between each stopover, on a daily basis if required, so that it will be waiting for you on arrival. We will meet you from either rail or coach station and if you arrive by car we can arrange for parking The Cost!
